Chapter One: The Origins and Terra Glacias

Origins and Terra Glacias

The Aedirian Continent was discovered by humans in the year 761 E.D. (Era of Discovery). The humans came south from what they called, "Il Terra Glacialis" or "The Frozen Lands", which as history claims became nearly uninhabitable except by the rich, who formed cities to keep themselves warm while the lower-classes froze to death. They formed what is known as, "Di Aeternus Imperium" and the only lower-classes allowed within the walled warmth of the cities were kept as pets and slaves. The others, remained in the cold to suffer, they were called "Anima Perdita". After several centuries of this, the slaves and the Anima Perdita became fed up with the treatment and attempted a revolution against the Imperium.

The Imperial Capital of Criios

Upon hearing of the unification of the Anima Perdita and their revolution, the Imperial Capital began to slay and murder all of their human slaves and pets in fear they may turn against them too, the streets of the capital ran with blood and were nicknamed the "Red Lakes of Stone" after this massacre, word reached the rebels and in return, they gathered all Imperium soldiers they could in their sleep and torture them to death. This caused an uproar in the capital and many of the nobles joined the Imperium Army and awaited the order from the Imperium Senate and High Imperator to attack.

The Imperium and the Senate

Within the great walls of the Senatorial Palace of Criios, the debates raged on, not on whether or not they should attack but, on how they should massacre the rebels. The High Imperator sat in the middle of the room, while the senators around him yelled and swore, he was getting a headache. Finally, a noble called Von Tenebrae walked forward and declared he would not assist in this massacre and left. Under most circumstances, a noble leaving the senate is no worry, however, Tenebrae has a special past and was also one of the more skilled tacticians in the Imperium, second only to the High Imperator himself. The room began to quiet down and the High Imperator stood and spoke of what would happen, they were all shocked. He ordered no attack, deemed it not necessary at the moment, instead, he told them to wait until he deems it worth the effort to quell. None of the senators agreed however, they knew that he had a plan, so they followed it unwillingly.

The Nobles

The Nobles from outside of the senate were surrounding the Senatorial Palace awaiting word, they saw Von Tenebrae leaving, as they surrounded him to ask questions, he ignored them and took his horse, he mounted it and left southwards towards the gates, everyone was woundering why? South was where the rebels were. Many assumed he was going to scout the enemies. The nobles who kept on joining the army, were organised into divisions, before the Senate spoke to them, they had well over 500,000 strong soldiers of noble blood, ready and willing to fight for their sense of honour. The High Imperator approached the army from the highest balcony and made a declaration to await the enemy and in five months, they would travel east towards the Fields of Ice. None questioned him.

Chapter 2

Chapter Two: The War Of Freedom

The Twin Cities of Artinia and Marat

The War of Freedom started around the year 655-681 E.D. it is debated on which date exactly due to a multitude of relics and information missing and evidence proving to both times. The war began in the outskirt cities of Artinia and Marat and history details that it began as a disaster for the rebels, they were disorganised and had no military tactics at all, the Imperium was toying with them and instead of using conventional weapons, were butchering them solely with their edged shields. After thirty minutes, the rebels were on the brink of destruction until a young man, known only as Noble Freiherr Bon Tenebrae stepped forward and made the decision to take leadership of the rebels. Von Tenebrae was an activist within the Imperium against slavery and in pursuit of equality among classes. Under his leadership, he managed to turn the tides on the Imperium using unknown military tactics which have been lost in time. The battle between the rebels and the Imperium for the twin cities lasted for several weeks and ended in bloodshed for both sides. The battle was fairly even, as both sides were fighting for something; the rebels dreamed of freedom and equality, the Imperium fought for their own sense of honour and the dreams of perfection. Von Tenebrae eventually won the battle for the twin cities and secured a foothold for the rebels, who now called themselves "Libertas i Solisia"and officially named Von Tenebrae their leader.

The Campaign

The rebels and Von Tenebrae gathered in the city hall of Artinia, leaving the Maratian city hall to be used as a medical facility for the wounded. On both sides. Many questioned why Von Tenebrae would order the Imperium soldiers to also be tended to, he just stated that he himself is an Imperium Commander and that he shares blood with them and even if they are blinded by generations of greed and separation, they are still human, as are everyone else. All humans are equal he said. Many rebels saw that he believed that the rebels could be raised to be equal without having to destroy the Imperium, many agreed, many disagreed but they all followed him. Libertas i Solisia spent the next few days tending to the wounded and were surprised to see that Imperium soldiers decided to join their ranks, after seeing they were to be treated as equals. The generals gathered one more to decide the next plan of attack, and it was decided, however, it would take days to prepare for it, they were running low on supplies.

Starvation

They have been preparing for well over two weeks, because they knew that it would be difficult to turn back once they leave the safety of the twin cities, they were starving and had no food left, not even enough for the women and children, they didn't know what they could possibly do. Some brought up the option of resorting to cannibalism, Von Tenebrae immediately turned that option down stating that they were not animals. Some former slaves knew how to farm, but the temperature was far too cold for it, even for the north. Soon after, they realised that they could no longer wait for the next step in this growing war, otherwise they would all starve to death. The initial plan was to move only the army to the next town, instead, they had decided, unhappily, that they would have to move everyone along with the army. Everyone packed what little things they had, and they all began to leave the safety of the cities. They have become nomadic people.

The Siege of Kaied

It has been three days since they've left the twin cities, they are now traveling towards the north-east, towards the trade city of Kaied, on his way down from the imperial capital, Von Tenebrae traveled through that city and they were abundant with resources and supplies, if they were able to conquer that city, they would successfully feed the people of the Libertas i Solisia. The only problem was, the city was heavily defended, walls twenty feet thick and 50 feet high in its lowest and weakest point. They would only have one shot at the siege. After another day, they arrived at the outskirts of Kaied, upon seeing the great walls, the army and people panicked, they did not know what they could do to conquer the city, they had no siege weapons and barely any arrows or spears to fight with. All heads turned to Von Tenebrae as he sat down and thought. After examining the walls, he got up and looked at his army, there were a good 85,000 soldiers and they were escorting well over 3,000,000 civilians, it would be a massacre if the civilians got near the warfare. He ordered the civilians to stay far back, beyond the outskirts as he planned to organise his army. After the civilians were out of harms way, he informed his army that the possibility of success was below 1%, he informed them that there would be 150,000 archers guarding the walls and they would have the use of trebuchets as well. Before the army could panic, he raised his hand and informed them that there was however, a way for them to win. He ordered the bulk of the army to imitate a retreat the moment that he and his division reach the outer walls, in a position that the archers could not aim at, there they would attempt to climb the walls. Upon seeing the retreat, he believed that the enemy army would open the gates and flood out in order to hit those hiding and climbing the walls, when the enemy army came out, the army retreating would circle around and hit them from the flank, in a surprise attack. The army agreed and they put the plan into effect. It worked, they captured the city, however, casualties were high. Out of the 85,000 soldiers in the army, only 43,000 remained. The people were able to take refuge within the city, there was plenty of food and water to go around, the rebels now had a new problem on their hand, they had no large army to fight with.

A Leader in Love

Several days after the siege, the rebels were still in firm grasp of the city, the people settled in and were all comfortable, even if they knew they were running on short time, after all, they had barely an army to fight with in case of an enemy invasion. Von Tenebrae, on one of his walks through the city, was trying to solve this issue, nobody knew what to do. One day, while walking, he heard a loud scream and so he rushed over to see what was going on. It was a woman. She was walking along side the lake and she fell in, to normal people today, falling in water is nothing however, the water there was always near freezing temperature and it would take only a few minutes to catch hypothermia. Without thinking, Von Tenebrae rushed over and dove into the water to save her, after a few seconds he managed to get a hold of her and take her out safely, by this time, a crowd had gathered and they brought warm blankets for the two. The woman was thankful and smiled as Von Tenebrae asked her name, she answered and her name was Cirri. After that, they were always seen together, rumour has it that she even helped him solve the problem of recruiting an army.

A Proposed Treaty

A week later, a emissary from the Imperium had come with a treaty, the treated stated that the rebels would be allowed to keep Aritinia, Marat and Kaied, they would be their own nation however, they must pay taxes to the Imperium and, the members of the rebel army would have to be sent to the Imperium to be punished for their actions. Many thought that it was very generous of the Imperium to allow them the chance to be free, however, Von Tenebrae thought otherwise, he figured that if they accepted, the rebel army, willingly, would leave to face punishment for their actions, after all, it would save the people. If they left, who would fight the Imperium and stop them from invading? This caused internal conflict between the rebels, a few even attempted to assassinate the generals and Von Tenebrae. Shortly after, they realised they couldn't accept nor refuse so, in turn, they decided to stall. All of this fell into the High Imperator's plans and predictions.

The Shadow Stalkers

The High Imperator predicted that the rebels would not be able to make a decision so, during their interal battles, he sent his legions of assassins called the "Shadow Stalkers". This group of assassins was famous throughout the entirety of the Imperium, they never failed their assignments and now, they were assigned to eliminate the generals and Von Tenebrae. In the city of Kaied, each general was asleep or bickering with each other so, they strike at each individually, they did not kill them all however, they had a plan. They killed the first two and portrayed their bodies atop the highest point of the city, so when the sun came up in the morning, it would shine upon them and their shadows would be cast down upon the people below as they observed in horror. This caused panic among the other generals and fear. Each of the following days, another general was murdered, no matter how protected they were. Finally, only Von Tenebrae and another remained. They decided to stay together from that point on up until the point that the other general went mad and accused Cirri of being the assassin, he rushed at her with a blade forcing Von Tenebrae to strike him in the neck with a blade. Cirri was grateful but worried, she decided it would be better if she left the city for a while, Von Tenebrae asked her not to go however, she made up her mind and left. The next day, as he awoke, the Shadow Stalkers were waiting for him. They went up to him and as he prepared for his death and waited for a few moments, nothing happened, he opened his eyes and they were gone, he thought that he was only dreaming, until he saw there was a note on the floor for him. He went over and picked it up, read it and was horrified with what it said. It informed him that all the generals were dead now, which he knew and that the Imperium were going to massacre the people of Lombar, widely known as the slave-trade city, with well over 10,000,000 slaves. He immediately rushed out of his home and warned all the people of the city about the attack, he didn't understand why they left a letter but he didn't care, he just knew that Shadow Stalkers were unable to lie to a noble blood, which he was. He informed the army of the massacre and asked for any volounteers, 60,000 came forward, more than he expected, he ordered that 30,000 come with him while the other 30,000 remain behind and defend the city in case they were to be attacked and he promised he would return. He did not know how wrong he was.

The Siege of Lombar

The army left Kaied right away and moved as swiftly as possible towards Lombar, it was a good three days away. The army arrived and to their horror, the city was aflame, screams and panic was everywhere. They were too late. 10,000,000 lives, lost to the Imperium. The rebels grew furious. In their fury, they were unaware that they were now surrounded by the enemy. at least 100,000 soldiers of the Imperium. They prepared for their deaths. Each rebel fought against the enemy valiantly but they knew it was a loosing cause. Up until the moment they saw in the distance, a large amount of soldiers on the move, both sides were surprised, they were wearing the armour of the Imperium free-state of Dioltz. The rebels surprised and shook by fear did not know what to do. The Imperium soldiers, grinned and backed away a bit to leave some of the rebels to the Dioltzians. As the Dioltzian army approached, they surrounded everyone, both the rebels and the Imperium soldiers, nobody understood but the Imperium soldiers did not worry, why would they have to? The Rebels re-groped, their numbers now at 7,000. The Imperium soldiers now at 78,000 and the Dioltzian reinforcements number at 300,000 in the smallest estimation. The rebels knew they would die here. Von Tenebrae stepped forward and raised his sword in the air and charged at the Imperium soldiers, if he had to pick, they were already tired, at least more so than the Dioltzians. As they rushed forward, the Dioltzian army raised their weapons in the air and rushed forward too, the Imperium soldiers stood in defense against the rebels, leaving them to the Dioltzians, thinking they would go around them. They were wrong. The Dioltzians immediately smashed into the Imperium's rear guard and crushed them, they were being massacred. The rebels, surprised, did not relent in the attack, both sides kept pushing until the Imperium soldiers were forced to surrender. Soon after, the leader of the Dioltzian army stepped forward and hugged Von Tenebrae tightly, the leader removed their helmet and under it, was Cirri. Apparently she was also a noble and the head of Dioltz. Their armies joined together and turned to face Lombar, which now seemed to be an easy target. The armies charged at it, crushing the defenses with ease, apparently the majority of the defenders were the ones who initially attacked the rebels. The moment they capture the city, they realise the extent of the massacre. The initial slave population was 10,000,000 it now rests at 65,000. The two leaders of the armies, Von Tenebrae and Cirri, now together again decided that they must take the fight to the Imperium Capital of Criios. Catching them off guard, so after replenishing the military supply and recruiting some more soldiers for their army, which now counted to 400,000 strong, they began their trek eastwards, through the famous ice-fields.

Turn of the tide and the fields of Red Ice

The Rebel army, now named Spes marching eastwards towards the Imperium Capital of Criios, ready and willing to bring the war to the High Imperator's front doorstep. They saw the ice-fields in front of them from a distance, however, it was covered in black spots, they would need to get closer to see what it was, they were after all, traversing a mountain range. A few hours later, they arrived and were in horror. The fields were littered with the corpses of former slaves and people of all the Imperium cities, including, to their horror, the soldiers and people of Kaied. None were spared, not even the women or children. Furious as to who did this within the Imperium, they looked up and saw the High Imperator leading an army of well over 500,000 and growing from all sides, an endless line of reinforcements. Cirri and Von Tenebrae moved forward in a stride which turned to an enraged sprint towards the enemy and their army followed. In turn, the High Imperator ordered the assault and the endless wave of Imperium soldiers, equipped with the newest and best equipment known to man, more advanced than the equipment known today, rushed forward to clash with Spes. The battle raged on for days, thousands were dying, for every single Imperium soldier, two Spes soldiers died. They knew they were outmatched. Von Tenebrae saw the High Imperator and rushed at him, and they began their battle, during this time, the High Imperator was both dueling with Von Tenebrae and directing his military, he was indeed unmatched in skills. Von Tenebrae did not surrender. The High Imperator ordered a flank and a pincer, he ordered a drag manouver and a bombardment volley of arrows, every possible tactic one could thing of, and each of these attacks hit with great force against Spes. Von Tenebrae and the High Imperator's swords clashed constantly until the Imperator tossed his blade in the air and drew a dagger, rushed at Von Tenebrae, as Von Tenebrae did a parry and a half-pirouette, to block and prepare for a counter attack, the High Imperator caught his blade from the air and had it at Von Tenebrae's neck and disarmed him with the dagger. All hope was lost. Cirri, watching in horror, ordered assisstance to go and save him, she went along with them, until Von Tenebrae stood with the blade still at his neck, looked around the field and saw fewer than 10,000 Spes Soldiers remaining, with over 300,000 Imperium soldiers still alive. He stared at Cirri.

The Sacrifise

The High Imperator demanded the unconditional surrender of the Spes army, he demanded they beg for mercy. Von Tenebrae raised his hand and, while staring at Cirri, ordered a full retreat, ordered them to run, telling them that so long as one Spes member lives, the war is never over and they will always be free and before he could finish his sentence, he was impaled by the High Imperator, who then turned towards the Spes renments and ordered them to surrender. None accepted, instead they followed Von Tenebrae's final orders and retreated. The High Imperator ordered pursuit, however, they could not follow, they were all slipping over the blood covering the ice-fields, the fields of red ice. The rebels, in full retreat rushed southward, they kept moving, never stopping, knowing they could no longer remain in these lands. Cirri, heartbroken, rushed at the High Imperator, dodged his strike and grabbed the blade of Von Tenebrae and ran towards the head of the Spes remnants, to lead them south knowing full well... that the war for freedom failed.

The Exodus

The remnants of Spes, kept running and fleeing south for three weeks, until they reached the ocean. They did not know what to do. They had no ships and the water was too cold to swim in. They were trapped. Cirri immediately ordered them to use their shields, to band them together, tie them up or if possible melt them together. Historians disagree on which method was used. However, they managed to construct small rafts from the shields, there was however a problem. The Imperium soldiers caught up with the High Imperator in the lead and there were only enough rafts for 500 people. This meant many would have to die. Cirri ordered the 500 youngest to go on the rafts and flee, she turned towards the Imperium army with the rest of her army behind her and raised her now battered sword and tossed it to the ground, choosing instead to grip the heavy blade of Von Tenebrae however, before she could order the attack, her own army grabbed her and dragged her to the rafts, she flailed about not wanting to go and wanting to die fighting with her army, they would not listen, they got her on a raft, the other members of the raft holding her down so she would get back up and those ashore pushed the rafts away, to follow the stream south. There were no words, it was silent. They saw it all, the massacre of the defenders but they were happy, they survived and they will carry the memory of those fallen along with them, they knew the soldiers would not die in vain. As each soldier died, they died with a smile, knowing they managed to save at least a few of their own people. Those who died are known today as the Guardians of the bloodline.

Chapter Three: A New Life

The Exodus South

The Spes remnants, now fleeing south, crossing the ocean into unknown lands, did not know what to do. They did not even know if there was land south. They traveled south for months, feeding themselves only with caught fish and drinking only rainwater until they reached an island with trees upon it, there, they decided to construct ships, and continue south to find more land, some stayed behind and made a small colony there, they were too old to continue south. Slowly, the numbers continued to diminish as some died of disease, others stopped because they could go on no longer and chose to stay on one of the small islands they come by, soon, only 100 remained.

The Name

Knowing full well that they would remain nomads for a long while, they decided to rename themselves from Spes, to the followers. They called themselves the followers because they followed the current of the ocean, never leading it, only following it. They began to feel comfortable with it. They also decided to continue until they found land large enough for a new life and a new civilisation to live on. They decided they would name this new land Aediria, for they heard rumours, that was the true name of Von Tenebrae, that his name was Freiherr Aediria Von Tenebrae. Scholars disagree with this and do not tie it with the naming of our home continent, they state there is no evidence to that being his name and that he was only ever called Freiherr Von Tenebrae. However, the name remains, to this day, the name of our continent.

The Child

On their travels, they soon realised that Cirri was with child, and soon to give birth, they woundered who was the father until they realised, they've only been gone for 8 months, they immediately knew, Von Tenebrae was the father. His bloodline continued. The people immediately prepared for this, however, they had little to no resources to care for a new baby, and realised that the bloodline of Von Tenebrae may end very soon. The nights became stormy, as if they were being tested with their loyalty to the fallen Spes soldiers. They did not falter, after a few days, Cirri gave birth to a male child, known as Jaskier Von Tenebrae or, more commonly known today as Emperor Jaskier Von Tenebrae I di Aediria of the Aedirian Empire, heir of Queen Cirri Von Tenebrae di Aediria.

A Discovery

They remained travelling south with the current for another two years, until finally, they reached a large landmass, they called it, the land of Aediria or, the Aedirian Continent. They began to construct a new city, their population, now at 86 began to grow, for they had women and men. They began to construct a city, known as Fraedan, today this city is known as the Imperial Capital of Tenebrae of the Tenebraen Empire. The city grew and, 20 years later, became a thriving city in the new lands, the lands were quite warm compared to their old homes, they soon not only had a city built but a small nation. They proclaimed their nation, the Kingdom of Aediria with Cirri as their Queen. Ten years later, Cirri was now in her late forty's or early fifties, she was growing old and decided that she should abdicate her throne to her son, Prince Jaskier, who claimed he was not ready for it however, she nonetheless did it and stayed as his advisor. She was known now as the Queen-Advisor Cirri and Prince Jaskier was now known as King Jaskier.

Honouring the Dead

A few years later, King Jaskier now in his early thirties is awoken by his royal guards with terrible information, the Queen-Advisor has died in her slumber. He was filled with pain did not know what to do. She was the last of the original Followers and Spes alive, with her death, they no longer existed in this world. After a few hours, he decided that they should hold a large funeral, not just for his mother but to honour all those who have fallen so that they may survive and continue to live in freedom. Everyone agreed. At the head of the funeral existed one tomb, the tomb of Cirri and Von Tenebrae, together. surrounding them were murals with the names of every of the thousands of soldiers who had died for freedom. The funeral lasted for an entire month. Each year, we commemorate this by holding a celebration called, "The Celebration of Freedom and Honour". However, the Empire is considering outlawing this festival due to recent activities.

A New People

Fifteen years later, King Jaskier, now in his late fifties, decides that his Kingdom is too large to be considered a Kingdom any more so, it is renamed the Aedirian Empire, a celebration is held in honour of this, his son, Prince Marckus Iheaded the celebration. Many of the people were not comfortable with Prince Marckus, there had been many rumours that he had been corrupted and cared only about power, none of these rumours validated and the Emperor considered him a good son. Prince Marckus also has a son, Prince Jaskier II, who people claim adopted the kindness of Cirri and Emperor Jaskier I. During the celebration, they hear news of a new discovery, a new people, native to this land. History calls these people Purebloods. The Emperor invites them in and introduces himself and his family to their leader and in turn, they do the same, they begin new relations with each other and trade begins. There existed rumours that Prince Marckus hated these "Purebloods" that they should not exist on Imperial land. His father however, did not agree. So, history is debated on this issue however, some claim Prince Marckus began to plot.

Genocide

Relations between the Purebloods and the Aedirian Empire rapidly grow until the events of the red harvest occurred. History describes it as the assassination of Emperor Jaskier I, the ascension of Prince Marckus to become Emperor Marckus I and the beginning of the "War of cleansing". The story goes in two ways, the first is that Prince Marckus plotted the assassination of his father and framed the purebloods, another story goes that the purebloods grew jealous of the Empire and assassinated the Emperor. Historians are split on this however, the Tenebraen Empire claims that it was the latter that occurred. As a result of the assassination, Emperor Marckus I ordered the cleansing of the Purebloods, ordered that none survive and so, the Imperial army killed all of them, to this day, none can be found and their ruins remain littered around the lands of Aediria.

A New Nation

Years after the War of Cleansing, Emperor Marckus I died of a heart-attack, many assume he was poisoned. His son, Prince Jaskier II became Emperor Jaskier II, his first order of his new empire was to rename it from the Aedirian Empire to, the Tenebraen Empire, the name of the modern-day empire. He also established an Imperial Senate in order to help him rule, many state that this is where the corruption originated for the senators cared only for themselves and possibly began to plot against the Emperor.

The Isles of Temaria

During the reign of Emperor Jaskier II, the emperor managed to expand enough that he encountered an Island Kingdom, the Kingdom dated back to before the discovery of the Aedirian Continent and was called, "The Temarian Isles" or "The Kingdom of Temaria", today it is known as "The Free-State of Temaria" these islands, ruled by a King who's name was lost in history had an abundance of resources, more so than even the vastness of the Tenebraen Empire, so, the Emperor commenced trading with them and they both grew together, they traded all resources and technologies they had with each other.

Corruption

The Emperor, tired and old, now in his eighties, had allowed the senate to rule in his stead due to his decaying health, he had a son who he believed was not strong enough to lead, the son was named Prince Tumask, one day, the Emperor, out for a walk, decided that perhaps the prince was ready to rule and on his way home, he collapsed into a slumber, the doctors stated he had a fever, he died the next morning. Prince Tumask, now Emperor Tumask, hated his father for not thinking he was ready to lead so, he decided to name the Senate his advisor and ordered the execution of all the previous advisors of his father. They say this is where the spiral into corruption began.

Chapter 4

Chapter Four: War of Corruption

Dissolution of the Imperial Senate

It is now 800 years after the reign of Emperor Tumask, the current Emperor and head of the Imperial Senate has declared that the entire senate be dissolved, leaving full power in his hands. Today, the senate hall is filled with dust and cobwebs, and the only time a senate meeting is held, is when the Emperor makes a new law and requires all of the senators to be present so that they may enforce it in their lands. They are now purely figurative and symbols of the old Empire.

Puppets in Foreign Lands

Today, many have accused the Emperor of the vassalage of foreign or the subjugation of foreign nations and forcing them to join the Empire or, forcing them to trade with the Empire, which would account for their large amount of resources, rivaling even those of the Free-State of Temaria. Imperial officials deny these claims and state solely that they are having beneficial trades with these nations. Many turned towards the Free-State of Temaria for information on this however, the Free-State of Temaria, as they have always been, have refused to comment on foreign issues.

The City of Solis

The city of Solis, a city that the Empire claims as one filled with scum and low-lives, a cancer in the Empire, has begun to revolt against Imperial orders and have murdered the representing senator. As a response, the Emperor has stopped all resources going to the city, hoping to starve the rebels into submission. The rebels however, have attempted to open trade with the Free-State of Temaria, no information regarding this has been found.

The Splinter

The city of Solis, starving and nearly dead have come to an agreement with the Free-State of Temaria, they will trade with one another, so long as the trading occurs within Temarian borders, for the Free-State does not wish to interfere with foreign relations and is only in this deal for more business. The Empire cannot make any accusations of Temaria for if they did, trade would possibly halt with them. As a result of the trading between Temaria and Solis, Solis has declared independence from the Empire and has named themselves the State of Solis, and have vowed to oppose the Empire whenever necessary. They have a General who plans to lead them against the Empire.

The Siege of Solis

As a response to the statement of independence of Solis, the empire had sent a small military group to deal with the city, they had been besieging the city for several days and neither side seemed to be near falling. Eventually, the general of the Solisian army, ordered the use of fire, to torch the walls along with all the enemies on them. This plan worked, however, they were forced to fight on the outside of the walls afterwards where one side would surely win in this battle.

The Kingdom of Solis and the Sunken Fields

After the great flames of Solis burned down the walls and half of the besieging army, the two factions fought in the lands called "The Sunken Fields". The battle took place for six days until eventually, tired and broken, the Imperial soldiers were outdone by the Solisians and were surrounded. Instead of killing them, the Solisians allowed them to flee back to the Empire. The Emperor, upon seeing their cowardice, ordered the execution of each of the soldiers. Afterwards, The State of Solis, named their general, who lead them to victory, to be the King of Solis and so, the Kingdom of Solis was born.
